please be fat

Just finished with 2 exams today (crazy, right?). And so I got home really hungry because I stayed up late last night and I was too tired to eat (I slept with such growling stomach haha), and the only thing I put on my stomach last morning was a cup of hot Milo.

I'd always want to start my day with a huge portion of food as breakfast, like 'breakfast like a king kind of thing' but I can't - maybe because I am not a morning person. My mouth just doesn't feel like eating. I may feel nauseous if I force feeding myself.

So, I rarely have breakfast.

Which is totally not healthy! I remember a few months ago when I just reached Egypt from my summer break in Malaysia, I was having a few episodes of jetlag. So I woke up really early (at 5 am), so by 8 am I already felt really really hungry! At that particular times, I remember I had such prosperous heavy meals throughout the days. I ate 3 to 4 times a day which I thought that was the best achievement of my life hahaha. I was a happy girl!

Because apparently, one of my life goals is to make my body weight normal. I AM UNDERWEIGHT!

Oh, wait, did I mention anything about my hypotension? Sigh, my blood pressure has fallen so low. Plus, I just recover from a pre diabetis which I am still monitoring it till now.

So, what I'd always wanna do is to eat eat and eat. I want to be fat!

Because sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror, I'd feel slightly hurt to see how I am getting thinner day by day. My cheek bones are showing on both side, I'm growing my own dished face! And my nose appears so big. Damn.

Yes, my metabolism rate is really high. I keep craving for foods, but I eliminate them real fast. Like, "Eh, already want to poop eh?"

It's worsen every time the exam seasons come.

Well, that's not exactly what I want to write about. Actually, due to my hunger and tiredness from numerous exams today, I came home and craved for asam laksa.

So I made one.

Guys, I'd never know it was that easy. *omg, blow nails*.

Asam Laksa Qissy's Version. Which daun kesums and bunga kantan were specially flown from Malaysia hahaha, And of course, with extra onion!

I at at that age now to blog about food that I cook hahah #facepalm

char spaghetti

I know it sounds funny!

But please understand me, we couldn't find anything like kuey teow here. Except from some Malaysians who sell some food stocks from Malaysia (like ketchup, lemongrass, bird's eye chilies - cili padi la deyy, tempe and many more).

But, they are sooooo expensive. I understand because they're hot items! Come freshly from Malaysia!

They aren't readily available here in Egypt. So that's why we bring a lot of food supply from Malaysia every time we go back there. 3/4 of my luggage content is just food. If I lose the luggage, I will literally cry! It's food guys, foods!

Hahaha.

So, the other day when I come back, I brought together with me a char kuey teow paste. Which I thought I was so going to need this. And it's true.

I need this.

Because my love to prawn and char kuey teow is eternal.

And that was my first attempt of cooking char kuey teow. Which I used spaghetti instead, so I had no choice but to call it char spaghetti.

It tasted quite similar to any char kuey teow in Malaysia (oh my, am I bragging now? Hahaha), well at least it made me forget my longingness to any Malaysia's food for a while.

Butter prawn

One thing that I'll never say no to: Prawn.

Anything prawn. Prawn sambal with petai, Tomyam Prawn, Grilled Prawn, Whatever Prawn you name it.

Thank goodness that seafood actually love me back. No allergies or whatnots like some of other people will have (read: Ameerul who finds himself itchy after eating prawn. Soo not cool haha).

Ameerul is a picky eater or at least he has to, I must said. He cannot eat durian (he'll throw up), he cannot eat squid (he'll get itchy), he'd rather choose chicken instead of fish. And ice tea forever.

Unlike me, I'm a big fan of durian yumms I could finish one whole durian at one time and craving for more, my love for seafood is endless, I love every type of fish including shark (only his fin) and Pepsi/Coke/Slurpee forever hahaha.

So yes, Chicken Tomyam is a must menu if we'd get to eat outside.

And to satisfy my own craving for prawn, I made butter prawn. Oh Lord, I was so nervous, my very first time making this and what I was afraid the most was the egg floss! Cause that's where you can get your point from, the main part of the dish. And my fav part too.

Recipe

Ingredients:
Prawn
Butter (3 tbs)
Milk (3/4 cup)
Eggs Yolks (2)
Garlics (4)
Curry leaves
Sugar & salt

Steps:

1. Egg floss. Heat up butter (1 tbs) and oil. Pour down the beaten up egg yolks and stir them continuously. Drain them.

2. Fried half-cooked prawns.

3. Heat up the melted butter (2 tbs). Add chopped garlics, curry leaves and milk. Put (2).

4. Drain them and put together with the egg floss in a plate.

Yummms. Forever favourite!

Pavlova story

I know I can make a good cook. See? They missed my pavlova and I know they're using me. Right, that's how we keep Dolls going. They are using me for their own good. I mean, they asked me to cook for them, they asked me to buy things online for them, they're borrowing my clothes and never returned them back.

Such annoying friends God sends me.

And vice versa. I mean, this is something like karma but we do it willingly. I asked them to drive all the way from Shah Alam to Gombak just to fetch me to go shopping and send me back after that. I asked them to wash my hair, I ransacked Shushy's cupboard to find my birthday gift that she hid to surprise me but I was just impatient and I got Shushy yelled at me.

And share. We shared contact lenses case with our contact lenses inside (which can bring us to death actually haha). Everything yours are mine and vice versa. Hahaha.

O Allah, thank you for sending them to me. Even though they give me so much troubles. :')

Shushy and my home made pavlova.

Strawberry chocolate

Sunday.

Should be relax, waking up late, 30 minutes shower, lying down on the bed reading fav Shopaholic series, watching Keluarga Iskandar on Youtube.

But it was ended up by a Cell Biology replacement class.

Okay.

So okay, I was flexible. Bring it on.

But I rewarded myself with a smoothie haha.

Okay, you can choose whatever you want. And as an Arabic failure, I'll just show him whatever drink that I want and pay. Urghh. I don't know how long this ayam-itik conversation would stand. Well, as long as I'm full, that's not the main point anymore. Hah!

Strawberry chocolate smoothie. Love the taste of the sweetness of chocolate was covered by a little bit of sour taste from the strawberry. Such a perfect combination. Enough to make my Sunday.

Crepe

The most delicious bread-meat combination in the whole world.

This one is called Shish Tawwuq. Well, something like a mixing of mayonnaise, ketchup sauce, meat (you can choose whatever you like, they have chicken too).

And I don't know how they do it. But the taste is unforgettable. But the environment is so not promising for a healthy condition, so you better take it away, sumpah.

Fruits! Very very cheap. Someone advised me about eating pomegranate to help in better memorization.

When sotong and kangkung mixed

Somebody advises me to never take Vitamin C containing food together with seafood. Because it will produce some reactions that can cause you bleeding inside. A serious case was reported that the blood didn't stop flowing from the patient's ears! I can't imagine how it happened. So start from that, I'd always note what I'm taking.

Like, this is chicken and I eat this with sayur kangkung, so okay, pass. And like, this is fish and I'm taking it with mixed vegetables, okay pass.

I'm in trauma, am I? Haha.

Last time when I was in Penang, I could tell you how much I loved eating Sotong Kangkung. It's basically a mix of sotong (seafood) and kangkung (vegetable with the slight Vitamin C only) and they pour yummy sauce onto it. Obviously, pass with high mark!.

And I went Penang the other day, there's no way for me to miss this!

Gelojoh!

Polkadot

Doesn't this looked so cute? Hehe.

Imagine you're eating this while watching your favourite movie. Yummy. Awesome, isn't it?

My younger sister with the age of 17 taught me how to do this at home. I mean, I should feel a lot more like a loser, shouldn't I? I'm 22 and I have no clue how to bake. But never mind.

This was my really first time looking at this stuff. I was speechless like I found a new great invention. I wonder who on earth was being creative enough to invent this? I don't care if it's not that accurate cause it's just cool. Teaspoon and tablespoon and bla bla bla. What I know is teaspoon is 5ml and tablespoon is 15ml if in case you're going to give your children any syrup medicines. Nothing more than that.

My sister was doing this and I was just sitting besides her. I didn't knew how to do it, so silence is golden, am I right? Hehehe.

BEFORE

AFTER

And LATER will be in your stomach! :)

Addiction

Look, our annually treat has came. And it's going to last soon.

Tell me, who could deny the taste of yummy beef flooded with hot black pepper sauce and the taste of crunchy curly fries? Tell me, are you blind enough to see how wonderful is this meal just to serve us the best? It is a God's gift you see.

Stake a claim now!
I'm addicted to it. The feeling is like you get what you're waiting for a year and now that it has came, there's no way for me to ignore its existence.

This. Beef, yes. So alluring.

And this too! My god, how I love this Milo Supreme McFlurry. Cold and sweet. How it melts in your mouth. And the cold feeling when it's going down your throat. It makes you freeze.

But now that they have discontinued the production of this McFlurry and that is just an agony!

Amplang

Have you heard the word amplang? Please answer no, so I won't be alone.

What do you imagine when just hearing that word?

You're imagine something like this?

Hahaha, JK, Patrick's definitely has nothing to do with amplang because amplang is actually one of Sabah's famous kind of food. Urghhh, never gonna eat Patrick!

Boo me now. Such an embarrassing girl.

So one of my Sabah friend was going back to his hometown three days back and the jakun me was writing a long list to him to buy me everything in Sabah. You see Sabah's all well known for their pearls. So yeah, pearls had been on the top of the list. Cha ching cha ching!

He was safely arrived here in Semenanjung, and so that pearls (even more safe), they were lovely, I swear.

But then I discovered something in his bag, Oh God, something like keropok in small cutting.

That was amplang!

The jakun me again tried so hard to put that inside my handbag and was trying so hard to carry the bag properly so that amplang won't be broken into pieces. Haha.

See, even my purse had to give it some space. And spotted that pearl bracelet behind amplang.

Nyum nyum until..

it remained half!

Haha, Ramadhan makes me love food more, I wonder why. I'm not a big fan of keropok, but yes it was lust all the way.
